The race: I headed over to the lush state of New Hampshire for the first time, to throw my hat in the ring at Ironman 70.3 Timberman. This race would be the final hit out before Ironman 70.3 Worlds. The logistics of the weekend would mimic Worlds perfectly as the travel, course and temperature would be as close to the big finale two weeks later. The players: The main players were Leon Griffin (AUS), Andy Potts (USA), Igor Amorelli (BRA) and uber biker Andreas Dreitz (GER). The plan was to have a solid race and come away with confidence knowing I was on the right track for World Champs. The outcome: From the gun, Potts and Amorelli, both renowned swimmers, put real estate between themselves and our chase group.
